| Abstract | Numerical experiments using different convection schemes applied to the AGCM CPTEC/COLA and the Regional Eta model are discussed in a case of MCC that occurred over northern Argentina during SALLJEX (January 2003). The AGCM T62L28 is integrated with Kuo, Modified Relaxed Arakawa-Schubert and Grell. The Eta Model 40 km, L38 is tested with Betts-Miller-Janjic and Kain- Fritsch schemes. The observed precipitation and atmospheric fields from CPTEC reanalyses of the SALLJEX period including the SALLJEX data, are used for comparison. The results show that better results could be found if a multi-model ensemble would be performed. With respect to the experiment using different CO2 concentration, there is a suggestion that updating the concentration could reduce the systematic errors noticed in the operational version. Resumo:São discutidos resultados de experimentos com o MCGA CPTEC/COLA e com o Modelo Regional Eta, com diferentes esquemas de convecção em um caso de ocorrência de CCM no norte da Argentina. O MCGA é integrado com os esquemas de convecção Kuo, Relaxed Arakawa-Schubert modificado e Grell, na resolução T62L28. O Modelo regional Eta é testado com os esquemas de convecção Betts-Miller-Janjic e Kain- Fritsh na resolução de 40km, L38. Usou-se para comparação dos resultados, dados observados de precipitação e de campos atmosféricos da reanálise do CPTEC feita para o período do SALLJEX, com o esquema PSAS, incluindo dados do SALLJEX. Pelos resultados obtidos verifica-se que possivelmente um método de multi-model ensemble teria fornecido resultados melhores que cada modelo individualmente, nos dois modelos, global e regional. Quanto ao experimento com diferentes concentrações de CO2, os resultados obtidos sugerem que aumentando a concentração para valores mais próximos dos atuais, pode haver uma redução nos erros sistemáticos do modelo, em algumas regiões. |
